Twenty-seven years of language, and a camera

I was born and raised in Poland, and Polish is my mother tongue. I have worked as a translator since 1999 — an odd apprenticeship for photography, and a surprisingly good one. Both jobs are mostly listening — to what someone wants, said and unsaid — and both are about carrying it across without breaking it.

In 2004 I moved to Luxembourg and spent fifteen years in a multinational world where French and English were everyday languages. For years I also worked with Russian-speaking travellers in France and Italy, which is where my school Russian finally became working Russian. More recently I have also been building my own AI software projects.

In October 2025 my wife Beata and I moved from Poland to La Herradura, where she runs Bahía Nails. I photograph weddings, couples, families and portraits along this coast and across Andalusia — in English, French, Polish and Russian. She is also my muse — here is why you see her in so many of my photos.

Why I photograph weddings

Because Beata and I got married on this coast — at Attrevete on Cerro Gordo, at sunset on 4 September 2024, which was also my fiftieth birthday — with our friends and family standing around us. It was one of the most immediate hours of my life. I know what that day asks of you. Photographs are the only part of it you keep using afterwards, so they should look the way you want to remember it. Our wedding album is here (photographs by Michal Carbol).

Languages

I speak Polish, English, French and Russian, so a wedding, a session or a first conversation about what you want can happen in any of them.

I am learning Spanish, so that I can work more closely with couples, venues and local businesses here in Andalusia.
